Certification Guide
GIA — Gold standard worldwide. Most trusted, adds 5–10% premium.
IGI — Most common in India. Reliable and widely accepted by Indian jewellers.
SGL — Indian lab. Accepted locally but less internationally recognised.
Lab-grown diamonds are typically 60–70% cheaper than natural equivalents with the same 4Cs.
Understanding the 4Cs
Cut
Most important factor. Determines how well a diamond reflects light. Excellent cut maximises brilliance.
Colour
Graded D (colourless) to Z (light yellow). D–F are rare; G–H are near-colourless and excellent value.
Clarity
Measures internal inclusions. IF (flawless) to SI2 (slightly included). VS1–VS2 are eye-clean and popular.
Carat
Weight of the diamond (1ct = 0.2g). Price increases non-linearly — a 1ct diamond costs much more than two 0.5ct stones.
